I fully endorse your pleasure to share feelings and sensations after reading a special book.I was surprised, at first, by the content of your post and the uses that you’ve done with your starting point.
For example, when I had read the title, « The secret life of readers », I was expecting short stories with several characters who were hiding to read.
This could be a common thread including dramatic or comic situations.
Also, it recalls when we see some readers sitting on a public bench or some walkers with a book in hand, we could imagine them easily in their secret life.

Thank you and congratulations for your blog. Except it is very pleasant to visit, I find it very useful as I never really know which novel to read. Actually I'm used to spend my reading time to philosophical essays. But your feedbacks give me the taste of lighter readings. I'm looking forward to holydays ... The novel by T. Mc Daniels seems to call for a self-reflexion or more, for introspection. The song you've posted seems to fully match with the novel atmosphere you describe. Isn't it? I love this song, too. The novel by M. Blackman raise a reverse ying and yang situation. It calls to change my white woman position towards race concerns.
